Who is Prairie Maiden?

Once I began creating designs for the bead boards, I discovered I was following closely to Scandinavian floral patterns. Soon after I found this piece of embroidered art from 1961. I knew this would be a wonderful addition to spark inspiration in my studio.

Fun Q&A - Getting to know WHO you are buying from and supporting!

Q: If you could invent a new dish, what ingredients would it have?

A: Spinach for sure- I haven’t gone a day without spinach in years. My stomach cramps without it! Probably beans, rice and a fish of some type. I can eat the same meal for lunch everyday for a year. Either I’m crazy or crazy efficient.

Q: If you could completely get rid of one month out of the year, which month would it be and why?

A: March or April. Winter lasts forevvvveeerrr in the midwest. It would be nice to shorten it a little. By the end of winter, my skin is the color of cottage cheese.

Q: Did your parents have alternative name options that they were considering when naming you?

A: My dad wanted to name my twin and I “Dakota and Montana,” but mom was NOT having it. So my older sister helped them settle on Savannah and Sierra. I would have been happy either way!

Q: What would be the silliest feature of your dream house?

A: I’ve seen those inserts you can buy to put in an open window where birds can fly in and eat the bird food in the insert. What if I could make an entire picture window have many inserts just like that? It would be like bird heaven. Or to dream even bigger, what if every room in my house had a different type of natural floor? Like moss in the bathroom or grass in the living room.

Q: What's the worst fashion or hair decision you've made?

A: Oh boy, in junior high I thought it was a good idea to wear a half-bun and use the other hair to stick out the side - almost like human representation of a peacock. *face palm
